JOUËT 680
Yachting France 1978

The rumors about a "bigger" Sheriff!
Jouët 680 has a length which corrsponds to the length of the Calife 23 (which IS the boat that is one step bigger than Sheriff 600, but still looks like it) and since it too was manufactured by Yachting France, it was not such a wild guess that this MIGHT be the boat that some people have called "Sheriff 700"

Looking at this bigger boat, it can be seen that there is not much that resembles the Sheriff 600. Above all, this sailbaot is equipped with a centre-board instead of a keel.

But it is definitely more roamy with its 4 to 5 beds and bigger sails.

The page where I found this information described a boat with the name "Iboga"
and it is said on this boats page, that 426 Jouët 680 were manufactured by Yachting France in the years 1978 until 1984

According to my french souces, this boat is still very popular in France, since it is much easier to handle at low tide (with it's centre-board) than a keel-boat.
